Apprenticeship Resources

Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture & Landscape

In 2014, arboriculture, forestry, horticulture and landscape employers submitted a bid led by Bartlett Tree Experts and were given the green light to develop four apprenticeships:

  • Arborist
  • Forest Operative
  • Horticulture/Landscape Operative
  • Horticulture/Landscape Supervisor

Since January 2015 employers, together with training and assessment providers, have been working on these apprenticeships.  The Standards were approved by Government and the assessment plans are close to completion.

The partnership has written several resources to help employers and training providers give the apprentice the training and experience they need to achieve the apprenticeships.

Should we have apprentices for managerial positions?

Following the successful launch of the arborist, forest operative and horticulture and landscape operative apprenticeships in England,  the employer-led partnership behind the initiative is now asking the question, does industry require apprenticeships for managerial or advanced technical roles?
