Explore a Future in Countryside Management!

Do you enjoy being outdoors, getting your hands dirty, and have a keen interest in wildlife, conservation, or rural skills? This course is perfect for you if you’re looking to understand how the countryside works and how to maintain its diverse landscapes, species, and habitats.

What You’ll Learn

You will explore different habitats like woodlands, wetlands, heathlands, and grasslands, and discover the species that thrive within them. You’ll also learn about natural processes and the ecosystems they support, understanding how these ultimately sustain all life.

You’ll gain valuable practical skills including:
● Fencing and hedge laying
● Woodland management, coppicing, tree planting, and felling
● Operating and maintaining machinery such as tractors, chainsaws, brushcutters, and ATVs

Throughout the course, you’ll work towards industry standards, developing both practical skills and a strong understanding of theoretical issues within the industry. There’s a significant emphasis on hands-on practical work, giving you plenty of opportunities to get close to nature.
