Advanced Apprenticeship in Farriery

A Farrier is a skilled professional, equipped with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to support the welfare and wellbeing of equines through the shoeing and trimming of equine feet. Farriers must be good problem solvers and communicators, with the ability to work individually and as part of a team to discuss, develop and deliver a foot care plan tailored to the individual needs of an equine. This apprenticeship is designed to deliver the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to achieve the Worshipful Company of Farriers Diploma, join the Register of Qualified Farriers and practise as a qualified farrier in the UK. Our alumni are also offered the opportunity to receive a travel scholarship to work abroad as an equine welfare volunteer.

What qualification will I gain?

  • Level 3 Farriery Apprenticeship Standard and leading to the Diploma of the Worshipful Company of Farriers (Dip WCF).
