Overview
This pathway specialises in learning about animal health and well-being along with animal biology and their anatomy and physiology. It covers a range of associated sciences in conjunction with developing the skills needed to care for, handle and manage a variety of animals.
Description
This course covers a wide range of animal and science topics and is designed to focus on the underpinning sciences associated with Animal Management.

There are lectures, talks from guest speakers, visits, practical sessions in the Animal Unit and work related experience. Students’ work is assessed continually throughout the course with some end of year assessments (including exams).
Students studying at our Wakefield Centre will have the opportunity to use the Animal Management facilities at Askham Bryan College, York – free transport is provided from Wakefield for study days in York.
Students applying will study this course in our new Animal Management Facility and Wildlife Conservation Park. These facilities home a range of animals including reptiles, amphibians, mammals, birds, fish and invertebrates.
