This is the ideal qualification for those looking to progress in their career as a veterinary care assistant or go into further education. This qualification has been developed for those providing basic care to animals under the direction and/or supervision of a veterinary surgeon or veterinary nurse.

The practical aspects of the course can include the following hands-on tasks: Feeding, cleaning, handling and care of animals pre & post-surgery, dealing with clients, answering phones, booking appointments, and assisting the veterinary team in their daily tasks.

You should purchase overalls and steel toe-capped boots for when you are working on animals during practical sessions.
