If you’re interested in finding out about agriculture and farming, Brinsbury College offers the perfect setting for you.
Our Level 1 Agriculture study programme has a delivery model consisting of approximately 80% practical with 20% theory. The main qualification is taught and delivered at the college farm within our classrooms. The reminder, and large majority of the course, is out on our estate. Working with our farm animals including the dairy herd as well as our sheep flock.
Brinsbury Colleges Stable barn farm is our commercial farm that supports the curriculum delivery and is integral to providing students with an industry experience.
This is a full-time course based on 2-3 days per week. Students without Maths & English GCSE are also required to study these alongside their main course.
Some of the tasks you will undertake and develop:
· Assist with the movement, handling, and accommodation of animals
· Safe and effective working practices in agricultural industries
· Develop performance in land-based industries
· Assist with the health care and welfare of animals
· Building farm structures and resources
· Driving farm machinery
· You will complete onsite work experience and duties with our farm team
