Equine Care & Management at Writtle University College
Writtle is one of the leading equine colleges in the UK. Our campus boasts a range of specialist equine facilities that our students have regular access to in order to enhance their learning experience.
We provide stabling for around 40 horses and incorporate a range of stable designs. There are two indoor riding arenas, outdoor arenas, horse walker, therapy barns, jumping paddocks and a cross country course. Students can develop practical skills, from grooming, tacking up and clipping through to lungeing and first aid skills. Our courses combine theory with practical learning so our students have the knowledge and skills required to pursue their chosen career.
Lordships Stud is an extensive working stud unit which houses a variety of broodmares, foals, stallions and youngstock. It operates as a commercial stud and as an excellent educational facility for students.
