Level 3 Diploma Animal Management
Prepare for a fulfilling career working with and caring for animals in a range of roles. Our course in Animal Management will give you the theoretical and hands-on experience to make a difference to the lives of animals.
What you will study
The units listed below reflect the subjects you will cover on this course but are subject to change:
- Animal Biology
- Work experience in the Animal Sector
- Animal Nursing
- Zoological Animal Health and Husbandry
- Wildlife Ecology and Conservation Management
- Investigative Research Project
This course will include a range of different assessment methods, including written exams.
During this programme of study, you will also be given the opportunity to attend a residential study tour to Borneo, where you can experience wild flora and fauna first hand within a biologically diverse environment and appreciate a culture very different to our own.
Career and education opportunities
On successful completion of this course and a suitable reference from a tutor, you are able to progress onto a Foundation degree or Honours degree (subject to entry requirements).

- Kennel or cattery worker
- Pet shop manager
- Veterinary assistant or receptionist
- Animal collection worker or technician
- Carer or warden within charity organisations such as the RSPCA or Blue Cross and dog handler or trainer
