
Ann Turner FCMA CGMA
Ann Turner has been Principal of Myerscough College, a specialist Land-based and Sports college, since March 2006, having previously held the post of Deputy Principal Finance & Funding within the College. Having started her career lecturing at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, she has worked at senior level within the commercial sector prior to returning to education in 1998. She is passionate about the role education plays in widening opportunities and the College embraced this by opening centres within the larger urban areas of the region in Liverpool, Manchester and Blackburn. The College supports over 1200 apprentices working around the country whilst recruiting nationally and increasingly internationally to College based provision. It houses a Rural Business Incubator and will shortly open the Food & Farming Innovation & Technology Centre.
Ann is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, an Associate of the Institute of Agricultural Engineers and on the boards of Landex (Land-based colleges aspiring to Excellence), National Land Based College, The Lancashire Colleges, Association of Colleges Regional Committee and the Rural Advisor to the Lancashire Local Enterprise Partnership.
