Apprenticeship Information for Employers

NLBC aims to work with and support employers in developing and delivering top quality, occupationally focussed apprenticeships. Our Chair, Lord Curry of Kirkharle, explains how important this is:

Below is a list of useful websites and resources to help you recruit and manage an apprentice. Apprenticeships work differently in the four UK countries and our website should automatically detect where you are to show you the most relevant information, please click ‘allow’ when your location is requested.

To find out about how apprenticeships work near you, check the Government websites listed for detailed advice and guidance. These sites will list generic apprenticeships relevant to your business e.g. administration, project management, team leading, leadership and management. For apprenticeships specific to your industry, search our full list of land based apprenticeships.

When you are ready to take on an apprentice the Government guidance relevant to your nation will help you get started.  You will need to decide on how they will be trained and most employers start by finding a training provider or college/university to work with. The Government apprenticeship search facilities linked to below can also help with finding training providers. It is recommended that discussions are held with more than one training provider as they will differ in the service they provide.

NLBC can provide you with information, opportunities, resources and career connections that will be invaluable to you throughout your land based journey. Register with us now to receive these benefits and stay up-to-date with our latest developments.
